About us

Goals and values

We are a non-profit organization designed to match community resources with the needs of the public school in the Township of Mondesa Swakopmund, Namibia. A community is only as strong as the weakest link of the chain. Mondesa Community School Foundation mainly helps to improve the living standard of children in need. They should be enabled to choose their own future.

We are collaborating with the Township Community and Festus Gonteb Primary School.

The cofounders Nande Junias and Renate Epper

Nande Junias and Renate Epper founded Mondesa Foundation at the end of 2017.

The Foundation funds its activities through donations, and matches community resources with the needs of the public school. The Foundation`s aim is to improve the living standards of children from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing nutrition, education and after-school activities. All donations made to the Foundation are fully invested in projects in the Township of Mondesa. The Board Members are working on a voluntary basis and are thus not being paid by the Foundation.

TheFoundation supports the Festus Gonteb Primary School in the Township of Mondesa in Swakopmund, Namibia.

Paul Tangeni Ndjambula

Paul Tangeni Ndjambula is an Enrepreneur and Youth Ambassador born and raised in the Mondesa Township of Swakopmund.

He started with his youth commitments in 2011 shortly after he joined a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) BCLME-SAP Project, as a Young Professional Associate. This project lead to the creation of The Benguela Current Commission, a multi sectorial inter-governmental initiative to foster cooperation to work towards an integrated, science-based and regional approach for the conservation and sustainable management of the BCLME in  Angola, Namibia and South Africa.

Paul is a co-founder of two companies Tangeni & Ya Toivo Investments cc and Swakopmund Cycle Tours cc.

  • 2013 -2015 he served as Board President of French Alliance in Swakopmund.
  • 2016-2019 served as Executive Chairman of Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Swakopmund Banch.
  • 2021 – present he become  the founding President of the Swakopmund Business Chamber

Paul is an Alumnni with the Alliance Françoise, Empowerment of New a Generation of Leaders in Southern Africa (ENGISA) under Freedom House and International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a flagship programme of the United States Department.

In 11 years of professional work, Paul has built a solid career, worked in dynamic and multicultural environments and contributed to the organizations missions. As a reflective and strategic thinker, a good listener and equipped with excellent project management, networking, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.

 

               

 

Renate Epper, Vicepresident and Cofounder Switzerland

President and also Cofounder of Goods4Life www.goods4life.ch

2017: Establishment of Explorer Tours and Nathalia’s Kitchen and Mondesa Foundation by Renate Epper and Nande Junias. Beginning of the support of «one warm meal a day» at the school by              the Mondesa-Foundation.

2018: Container Goods4Life; personal distribution of the collected goods to the population. Construction of the Festus Gonteb School Library with ICT. Renovation and addition of playing                      equipment on the schoolyard.

2019: Establishment of the Association Goods4Life. Employment of a fulltime librarian and extension of the library.  

2020: Opening sewingatelier, Yogalessons for the children. 

2021: Building up the afternoon activities.

2022: A Women sewing Project was created in partnership with Katurura Association which operators the DRC Women Project.

 

Renate Epper is co-owner of EPPER Lucerne Corporation, a committed teacher and deputy school administrator of the Horw schools.

As another co-founder, and since I am not a native Namibian, I am an honorary board member of the Foundation. I will have further on the monthly bank statement from the account of the Foundation.


The Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors possesses a wide range of skills and understanding that enables the foundation to manage sustainably with various project activites.

  • Mr Paul Tangeni Ndjambula is the Board President
  • Ms Renate Epper is the Co-founder and Honorary Vice- President; Ms Epper has over 30 years’ experience in the educational sector in her home country Switzerland. 
  • Mr Hendrick Kadhila is the Board Treasure. He is a registered Diagnostic Radiographer and Medical Physicist and has served at the Windhoek Central and Katututura state hospitals.
  • Ms Rhivermo Williams is the Board Secretary; she is a lawyer by Profession and currently Magistrates Court Judge.

Explorer Tours on the short list, the sole Namibian company

Our first recognition outside of Namibia: 2018 we got chosen from the 9 African countries, which are nominating every year outstanding companies for doing business together with a charity project like Mondesa-Foundation with the local community. The African Responsible Tourism Award 2018, nominated as the only Namibian company Nande Junias Explorer Tours to the short list!
